Vote NO to Stop Fanita Ranch
To circumvent voters, the City Council rushed approval of a massive Fanita subdivision, September 23, 2020, ahead of the peoples' vote to protect the General Plan.

Councilman Stephen Houlahan was the only No vote.

Why Vote NO on Fanita Ranch Sprawl?

-
The massive sprawl project has significant documented traffic, fire safety, and environmental impacts.
-
Placing over 8,000 new residents in a Cal Fire designated “Very High Fire Hazard Severity Zone” is irresponsible.
-
Existing residents will rely upon the same jammed roads for evacuation and daily commutes.
-
The EIR disclosed significant unavoidable impacts on our streets and highways. Please reject the developer's misleading promises.
-
Superior Court ruled against the project on multiple fire issues, consistent with three prior court rulings against Fanita projects on wildfire [2009, 2010, 2012].
-
Santee residents rejected a similar sprawl project by a 2/3 landslide vote in 1999.
-
The City Council should respect Santee voters and democracy.
-
Developers should not be able to buy amendments and project approvals with large campaign contributions.
-
The project violates the Santee General Plan (the city's highest land use law).
